ジャムセッション心得Jam Session Etiquette

初めてのジャムセッションで恥をかかないために。知っておくべきマナーとルール。Everything you need to know before your first jam session. Essential manners and rules.

🎫 参加前の準備🎫 Before the Session

  • 定番曲を5〜10曲覚える: Autumn Leaves, Blue Bossa, Fly Me to the Moon, All of Me, Billie's Bounce など。コード進行を暗譜しておく。Learn 5-10 standard tunes: Autumn Leaves, Blue Bossa, Fly Me to the Moon, All of Me, Billie's Bounce, etc. Memorize the chord progressions.
  • Real Book (リアルブック) を持参: iRealPro アプリも便利。ただし頼りすぎない。Bring a Real Book: The iRealPro app is also handy. But don't rely on it too much.
  • イントロ・エンディングを練習: 曲の始め方・終わり方を知っておく。Practice intros & endings: Know how to start and end tunes.
  • 音量控えめ: アンプは小さめで。クリーン〜クランチが基本。Keep volume low: Use a small amp. Clean to crunch tone is standard.

🎸 演奏中のマナー🎸 During the Session

  • 聴くことが最優先: 自分のソロよりも周りの音を聴く。音楽は会話。Listening is priority #1: Listen to others more than your own solo. Music is a conversation.
  • ソロの長さ: 最初は1〜2コーラスに抑える。ダラダラ弾かない。Solo length: Keep it to 1-2 choruses at first. Don't overstay your welcome.
  • コンピング: 他の人のソロ中はバッキングに徹する。音量を落として。Comping: During others' solos, focus on accompaniment. Drop your volume.
  • スペースを残す: 弾かない勇気も大切。休符も音楽の一部。Leave space: The courage not to play is important. Rests are part of music.
  • エフェクトは控えめに: 歪み・ディレイは最小限。周りの音をかき消さない。Minimize effects: Keep distortion and delay to a minimum. Don't drown out others.

  • みんなが知っている曲を選ぶ: マニアックな曲はセッションでは避ける。Pick tunes everyone knows: Avoid obscure tunes at sessions.
  • テンポとキーを事前に伝える: 「Autumn Leaves in Gm, medium swing」のように。Announce tempo and key beforehand: e.g., "Autumn Leaves in Gm, medium swing."
  • ブルースは万能: 迷ったらブルース。F かBbキーが定番。Blues is universal: When in doubt, call a blues. F or Bb are standard keys.
  • 自分のレベルに合った曲を: 無理して難しい曲を選ばない。Choose tunes matching your level: Don't force difficult tunes.

ジャズのマイナーコードで最も多用されるモード。ナチュラルマイナーより6度が高く明るい。The most-used mode for jazz minor chords. Brighter than natural minor thanks to the natural 6th.

ドミナント7thコードの基本スケール。メジャースケールの7度を半音下げたもの。The foundation scale for dominant 7th chords. Like major scale with a lowered 7th.
